Protochips AXON Demo and Training on NUANCE TEMs

On February 21st and 22nd, the NUANCE EPIC-TEM and BioCryo team jointly organized a training and demo session for a newly installed system, called Protochips AXON, on the BioCryo JEOL 3200FS. This system aids in ensuring that your sample stays locked in place as environmental conditions change with drift correction and focus assist, even at extreme magnifications and sample conditions.

Demonstrated by Protochips global manager of support Daniel Frank, the training was attended by nearly 20 EPIC-TEM and Biocryo TEM users and staff. Various samples were observed in the TEM in four educative sessions, which included amongst others an exciting experiment where the live decomposition process of copper carbonate nanowires in a liquid cell Protochips Poseidon holder was investigated using the drift correction assistance of the AXON software. The data analysis was further performed using AXON Studio, intuitive software designed for managing, reviewing, analyzing and publishing TEM images and metadata.

For anyone interested in getting trained on the AXON software, besides on the JEOL 3200FS we have this available on our EPIC-TEMs JEOL ARM300F and JEOL ARM200CF as well.

Special thanks to the Protochips team for this educative and informative demonstration!
