NUANCE: Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center

NUANCE and M3S Host Midwest Microscopy and Microanalysis Spring Meeting!

On Friday, March 25th, 2022, NUANCE Center and SHyNE Resource, in collaboration with Midwest Microscopy & Microanalysis Society and with support from NU's Material Research Science Engineering Center, hosted the Midwest Microscopy Microanalysis Spring Meeting – our first in-person conference since March of 2020! The theme of this year’s meeting was “Novel Applications of Electron Microscopy in Hard and Soft Materials” and was held in the Pancoe Life Science Building on Northwestern’s Evanston Campus.

With about 70 people in attendance from all around the region; including presenters from University of Chicago, University of Illinois, Argonne National Lab, and Northwestern University; together with regional Vendors from JEOL, ThermoFisher, Oxford Instruments, Zeiss, Croda, Tescan, Tousims, Protochips, Bruker, NCI Micro; it was wonderful to share research, consult with colleagues, visit with vendors, and network with others in the field!

Thank you to all who were able to make it and to the M3S planning committee for all their diligent planning in making this an easy back into the world of "in-person" events!
