NUANCE: Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center

MSE Virtual Prospective Student Tour

Last Thursday April 2, 2020, PhD students Akshay Murthy and Stephanie Ribet hosted the NUANCE Center's first-ever virtual tour!

Originally scheduled as in-person tour for prospective students in the Material Science and Engineering program, it was necessary to get creative with the labs being closed due to COVID-19 - so NUANCE took the tour virtual!

It was a team effort, using existing video footage, new video footage, pulling together photos, and editing it together to make a comprehensive "tour". The result:  Akshay & Stephanie were able to walk the 25+ prospective students through our facilities via Zoom showing them all the amazing equipment available in NUANCE. Helping to flatten the curve by remaining at home, and being able to offer tours at the same time is a total win/win!

In these unprecedented times, we are offered the opportunity to use our creative problem-solving skills to navigate these uncharted waters. Thanks, team (and especially Akshay and Stephanie) for your dedication to the next generation of scientists!
