K2 Camera on the ARM 200CF

Over the summer, our Gatan Image Filter (GIF) attached on the ARM 200CF was updated with a K2 Summit® electron counting direct detection camera with 14.2 megapixels (3838×3710).

This camera is specially updated for enhancing the data acquisition for electron energy loss spectrum. Additionally, this camera has both the "summit mode" (linear, counting and super-resolution) and "in-situ mode", which will strongly enhance the observation of beam sensitive materials as well as the operando experiment.

NUANCE is super excited to house the only camera of this kind at Northwestern!
