NUANCE staff and students participate in MSSA 5K

NUANCE Director Vinayak Dravid, his research group, and several NUANCE staff members participated in the Materials Science Student Association’s (MSSA) 5K race over the weekend.
VPD Group’s Akshay Murthy placed first in the entire race with a time of 17:42.7. Tirzah Abbott, NUANCE’s Senior Electron Microscopy and Imagining Specialist, came in fourth place in the women's category with a time of 22:20.8.
Proceeds from the race — totaling about $3,000 — went to two good causes: Junior Science Club and Letters to a Prescientist, which both help bridge younger generations to a future in science.
