NUANCE Engages the Educators at NSTA Meeting
April 11th-14th, Amy Morgan attended the National Science Teachers Association meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, representing SHyNE and NUANCE. The NSTA’s annual meeting brings together science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, industry representatives, and others in the science education field from all over the United States. It is the largest organization of science teachers worldwide and this year there were close to fifteen thousand science teachers and administrators in attendance!
NUANCE shared a vender booth with NNCI (National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure), NNCO (National Nanotechnology Coordination Office), Purdue University’s Nano Hub, and the Hitachi Corporation. Our main goal in attending this year was to communicate the numerous free materials and resources available to teachers and administrators that would enable them to integrate nanotechnology into their curriculum. How exciting to be able to direct teachers, from a variety of subjects, to tools that specifically incorporate nanotechnology into their grade level and area of focus—be it biology, chemistry, physics, or anatomy!
Empowering the next generation of scientists by offering access to innovative means of learning while discovering the vastness of “inner space” is super inspiring!
