Female Science Campers Visit NUANCE J-wing
NUANCE was visited Thursday by a group of budding female scientists who are participating in a science camp on campus.
The Northwestern University chapter of the Society of Women Engineers hosts the program, known as “STEP” (Summer Technology and Engineering Program). STEP is a 4-day non-residential camp that aims to encourage middle school-aged girls to explore various fields of science and engineering.

The girls’ overall project for the week was to use their knowledge of science and engineering to overcome challenges in designing a "future city."
The campers took a break from city planning to explore various facilities in the Technological Institute, including NUFAB and NUANCE’s J-wing facilities. BioCryo imaging specialist Charlene Wilke showed off the sample prep area and facilitated discussion.
