The NUANCE Center Welcomes Poya Yasaeri

The NUANCE Center warmly welcomes Dr. Poya Yasaei, the new Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the SPID facility. In his new role, Poya will develop novel techniques to facilitate NUANCE users’ exploration of electrical, thermal, and structural properties of novel reduced-dimensional material systems.

Poya recently graduated with a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Poya has co-authored more than 12 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, Nature Communications, ACS Nano, and Science Communications. His research has been highlighted in more than 400 news portals and recognized by numerous awards such as the Materials Research Society (MRS), Graduate Student Silver Award, the UIC Dean’s Scholar Fellowship, and the Provost’s Graduate Research Award.
