Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day 2017

On April 27, NUANCE was visited by possible scientists of the future! As part of the university-wide “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”, the NUANCE Center hosted two groups of elementary and middle school aged children.
Dr. Jinsong Wu of the EPIC facility showed the young visitors the larger-than-life Transmission Electron Microscope, Jeff Cain (graduate student in the VPD group) dazzled them with the power of the SEM, and Akshay Murthy (graduate student, VPD) gave a hands-on demonstration with the optical microscope.
In total, about 35 children and parents visited NUANCE.
