The Fujifilm Dimatix DMP-2850 ink-jet materials printer is a precision fluid dispensing system with accurate positioning control. A broad range of fluids (conductive, resistive, dielectric, and biological materials) can be printed onto complex surfaces at micrometer resolution. It utilizes a MEMS-based piezo cartridge and can create patterns over an area of about 20 cm × 30 cm and handle substrates up to 25 mm thick. A waveform editor and a drop-watch camera system allow manipulation of the electronic pulses to the piezo jetting device for optimization of the drop characteristics as it is ejected from the nozzle. The additional fiducial camera enables alignment between printed layers.
