Personal Statement
Dr. Byungseok Seo is a Research Associate at the Northwestern University Atomic and Nanoscale Characterization Experimental (NUANCE) Center. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Korea University in 2016 and 2022, respectively, supervised by Prof. Wonjoon Choi. Following his graduation, he worked as a Research Professor in mechanical engineering at Korea University before joining NUANCE.
Research Objectives and Approach
Research Interests:
- Ultrafast thermal processing for low-dimensional materials (LDMs) and metal-metal oxide composites (MMCs).
- Optimal design strategy for energy materials based on multidisciplinary analyses.
- Innovative energy conversion (energy harvester/sensor) and storage devices for wearable/implantable applications
