NUANCE: Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center

NUANCE Center Hosts Lab Tour During National Manufacturing Day

The NUANCE Center welcomed 16 visitors for a behind-the-scenes tour of its research facilities on October 2 as part of Northwestern University’s National Manufacturing Day, hosted by the Northwestern Initiative for Manufacturing Science and Innovation (NIMSI).

This year’s event, Manufacturing with Embodied AI, brought together academic, industry, and government leaders to explore how emerging technologies and university-industry partnerships can help move innovations from the lab to the marketplace.

As part of the afternoon’s laboratory tours at Northwestern’s Technology Institute, visitors toured NUANCE facilities with Chris Sharpe of BioCryo, William Kent, SPID, and Xinqi Chen, Keck facility manager. The tour introduced attendees to NUANCE’s research facilities and the advanced instrumentation and characterization capabilities available to support research and innovation.

The visit offered an opportunity to share how NUANCE’s research infrastructure and technical expertise support work across disciplines and connect Northwestern’s research capabilities with the broader innovation and manufacturing community.
