Dr. See Wee Chee Visits NUANCE
The NUANCE Center was happy to host a seminar on July 25th featuring guest speaker Dr. See Wee Chee! Dr. Chee is a group leader for liquid phase electron microscopy in the Department of Interface Science at the Fritz Haber Institute (FHI) of the Max Planck Society. His research group in Berlin, Germany focuses on studying the transformations that take place in electrocatalysts under applied potential and in the electrolyte with liquid phase electron microscopy. Recently, they have also started to conduct operando microscopy experiments at the X-ray synchrotron beamlines.
After a lovely introduction by NUANCE Director, Professor Dravid, Dr. Chee presented his talk Combining Microscopes: Correlative Operando Spectro-Microscopy as a Bridge between Microscopy and Spectroscopy of Working Electrocatalysts to a full room of engaged participants. Following a lively discussion with excellent questions, guests enjoyed the tasty donuts while also having the opportunity to mingle and get further insights into Dr. Chee’s research.
Thanks to Dr. Chee for taking the time to share his research with us, and to EPIC TEM Facility Manager Xiaobing Hu, for encouraging Dr. Chee to stop by!
