NUANCE: Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center

NUANCE Welcomes SynBREU & Chicago Botanic Gardens REUs

NUANCE was happy to host a tour for several REU groups on Friday, July 19th.  A group of 30 undergraduate students taking parting in Northwestern’s Synthetic Biology REU and The Chicago Botanic Garden Summer REU programs were guided by NUANCE’s EPIC Facility staff Krysten Villalon and Nick Gogola while they toured the A/B wing. Krysten and Nick highlighted the many capabilities of our SEMs, TEMs, and Spectrometers and were able to offer a cool demo on the Hitachi S-3400N. The REU’s had great questions about the kinds of research and applications that happen in our facilities.

Thank you to Professor Kathleen A Stair for reaching out and inviting NUANCE to take part in the program this year!
