NUANCE: Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center

Nasir Basit Attends UGIM

On June 23– 26, 2024, NUANCE’s Nanofabrication Facility Manager Nasir Basit, PhD attended this year’s University/Government/Industry Micro/Nanotechnology (UGIM) Symposium held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

According to their website, the “UGIM symposium brings together operators, managers, and administrators of, primarily, university facilities involved in micro/nanotechnology fabrication and characterization from around the world.”  Nasir shared of his experience, "UGIM 2024 was an exciting and informative event highlighting the new MIT cleanroom facility occupying two floors of a new building connected by the elevator in the clean space. It included talks by the cleanroom technical staff from nanofabrication facilities all over the world including a few attempts of incorporating AI, and nanofabrication equipment expo."

We always enjoy the opportunity to meet with our colleagues and UGIM provides a brilliant opportunity to meet others in the field and compare notes, learn new techniques, and in this case, tour a top-notch clean room!

Thanks Nasir, for attending and bringing back exciting ideas, and thanks to MIT for hosting this year!
