NUANCE Center Welcomes Dr. Xiaobing Hu
The NUANCE Center would like to welcome Dr. Xiaobing Hu as its newest technical staff member!
Dr. Xiaobing Hu joined the NUANCE EPIC facility in 2018 as a research associate. He received his Ph.D. from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015 with a focus on the microstructural characterizations of secondary phases in superalloys using various advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. Before that, he got his B.S. from Materials Science and Engineering at Central South University in 2009. Xiaobing worked with Prof. Yuichi Ikuhara as a postdoctoral fellow at Japan Fine Ceramics Center from August 2015 to November 2016. Then, he worked with Dr. Yimei Zhu as a research associate in Condense Matter Physics and Materials Science Department in Brookhaven National Laboratory from December 2016 to July 2018.
Xiaobing is a professional TEM guy who specializes in the advanced applications of TEM in materials science. He has strong background in the fields of TEM, engineering alloys, battery and other energy related materials. Xiaobing is also a lover of climbing mountains, swimming and exploration.
