NUANCE: Nanoscale Characterization Experimental Center

The NUANCE Center warmly welcomes Dr. Sungkyu Kim and Dr. Chiara Musumeci!

ChiaraMusumeci.jpgDr. Chiara Musumeci joined the NUANCE SPID facility in September 2016 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In 2014, she received her PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Strasbourg, France, after which she was appointed Postdoctoral Researcher at Linköping University, Sweden.

Her research has been devoted to the implementation of Scanning Probe Microscopy beyond imaging, such as C-AFM, PC-AFM, KPFM, for materials characterization at the nanoscale. Through advanced SPM techniques, Chiara has studied structure-electrical function correlations in a wide range of self-assembled materials, from organic conductors to biomaterials, with applications in the multidisciplinary fields of (supra)molecular and bio-electronics.

SunkyuKim.jpgDr. Sungkyu Kim began his position as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the NUANCE EPIC Facility September of 2016.  Prior to this, Sungkyu was a graduate student at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2016.

Sungkyu has experience in the fabrication of nano-devices with resistive switching behavior, control of chemical reaction in the interface and carbon materials, and in-situ TEM observation of chemical reactions. Sunkyu likes to travel, watching movies, and billiards. He is always welcome to visit.

We warmly welcome Dr. Chiara Musumeci and Dr. Sunkyu Kim as the newest members of the NUANCE team!
